Robert is the best personal trainer you can choose and here is why. He is very professional. You can tell very quickly he knows well his stuff.

He is very patient (he needed to be with me :-p) and he knows how to progressively help you to get where you want in regards to fitness and health. He pays attention to every detail, he will correct your posture at all times if necessary, which I found extremely helpful. Additionally, he will not give you big lectures about what you should not eat, he gives you simple and straight forward nutrition and lifestyle advice and help you to introduce the right foods into your diet and organise better, all this very progressively and just when you are ready, another thing I found extremely beneficial. He will even suggest some good recipes and meals!!

You can tell he recognises that each individual has their own pace, needs and preferences and he does his best to adapt to you and to tailor your training to your body, likes and dislikes and lifestyle.

I would strongly recommend him to anyone!! Definitely! Without a doubt!! Choose him and I assure you will not regret it!! It will be the best money you have ever invested in your life! He helped me change my body, my mind-set, my diet and my health (asthma and knees/back/neck pain gone!). He basically changed my life!

T1 is a great gym.
If you are apprehensive about starting to get your fitness back on track, don’t be. The team is really friendly, very approachable and always keen to help get you moving to achieve your own fitness goals.
The members are all lovely too, which is an added bonus. Even at the 6am Bootcamp’s there is a quiet acceptance of every sleepy-eyed weary soul, and 45 mins later, the early wake up (struggle to tie your shoes and form sentences) is worth it.
Health and safety is key here. All exercises are explained, adjustments advised and most importantly everything is super clean!

Rob is a great personal trainer, he tailors everything to your needs and makes sure you get the most out of every workout. He is always encouraging and patient. He has also helped me with my diabetes, managing my blood sugars better when exercising. Great nutritional advice and ideas are given with his recipes. A lovely guy, very approachable and friendly.

When I started training with Rob, he set me at ease immediately with his positive attitude that I could do something with my appearance and physical fitness. These professionals can assist you by designing a safe and effective exercise program to help you reach personal goals.Your role was to be a personal trainer and I always felt that you delivered a fitness plan that was individual to me in that you applied thought and planning into creating it around my goals and not just straight out of a fitness manual.You were professional during the session, always giving your full attention, ensuring my safety at all times whilst increasing my strength and fitness. The sessions were challenging but you would not have been doing your job if it wasn’t. You encouraged me to use machines and lift weights that I would of never considered, i) not sure how to use and ii)didn’t think I would be able to lift, push or pull. The result is now during my visits to the gym, I am not scared to lift the weights or use the machines through all the education from you.

The food diet sheets were filled in adhoc by me but they were helpful and have encouraged me to eat more regular. I do plan to improve further and will use your cook book to assist, although a personal chef would off been nice too.

My goal was to improve tone and core strength both which has been achieved over the 10 month of sessions with you. I now fit into size 10 skinny jeans, not bad for a 51 year old.

You are a genuine person, very approachable and easy to get on with. I looked forward to my gym session and will miss them, the friendly banter and encouragement.

You definitely achieved all what the definition states a person trainer is, to an excellent standard.

Would I recommend Rob Stevenson personal training, most definitely, any one to be trained by you in the future will be one lucky person.

I trained with Robert for approximately 18 months and it was the best decision I ever made. From the beginning, Robert made me feel comfortable and encouraged me to try harder every session. A fantastic motivator, Robert genuinely cared, was patient and knew exactly how to encourage me to go outside my comfort zone. He made the sessions fun, helped me understand how I was exercising, my nutrition and celebrated each achievement. The results were amazing and I actually looked forward to going to the gym.

This is the first time I have ever had a personal trainer and it has been the best decision I have ever made. Rob is a great trainer and so easy to get on with. Since working with Rob I have become a much fitter and healthier person. Before starting with Rob when going to the gym I was stuck in a rut, doing the same set of machines all the time as I didn’t know any better. That has all changed now as Rob gets you to do a wide variety of training programmes catered to what you are capable of.

Nutrition has been a big factor as well, as I now eat a lot healthier and with Rob’s help have kept it going and between better nutrition and exercise, I have managed to loose a lot of weight. Rob works you hard during the training sessions, but I enjoyed that as it made me feel that I had actually achieved something at the end of each session.

Rob always gave me the motivation to keep going even if some days you thought you couldn’t. Another good thing was Rob being available to speak to out with the sessions if things weren’t quite going to plan and you were just needing a bit of encouragement. If you are ever trying to decide whether to go with a personal trainer or not I would say go for it and choose Rob, you won’t regret it.

I worked with Rob Stevenson from mid-2014 to his departure from DW Sports in Dundee in early 2015.

I found Rob to be extremely personable, friendly and knowledgeable about his field. Rob constructed a fitness regime which we implemented in the gym over some months. This was my first experience of working with a Personal Trainer and I found the sessions to be hard work, but most enjoyable in terms of the various exercises and the informed dialogue we had at each session.

The sessions were tailored to my own requirements in terms of fitness but Rob at no time put any pressure on me to exceed what we both felt I could achieve. Rob also advised on nutrition and work on fitness I could work on outside my sessions with him – this involved in my case daily swims and Yoga and Pilates classes.

Laterally a hip condition prevented me from some of the more strenuous lower body work, but Rob then concentrated on continuing our regime with a higher concentration on upper body work.

Rob also kept a detailed record of work we had completed which could then be transferred to an alternative Personal Trainer to continue.

Rob is clearly a professional in his field and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours. I would have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone of any age group who may wish to improve fitness, mobility and health.

I have found my sessions with Robert very good indeed, I always felt relaxed while doing the session with him.

The sessions were good and we worked all parts of my body, I now feel much better and fitter.

Education was very helpful indeed and I have changed my life style to suit my illness, with less comfort food and fizzy drinks, to fruit, nuts and more water.

I would certainly recommend using Robert to my friends and close family.
I feel better and can easily do a round of golf now without any breathlessness. I generally feel good, dropped a trouser size in the short time he took me under his wing and will be a sad loss to myself and the rest of his clients.

I cannot recommend Rob Stevenson Personal Training highly enough. Over the last year I have learned so much from Rob, both regarding exercise and nutrition. In that time with just a 1 hour monthly session, I have toned up, lost inches, reduced my BMI and lost weight. Every session has been varied and I now use the gym efficiently. Rob’s encouragement & efforts are fantastic & I am gutted he is moving away.

The thing I enjoy most about the sessions is the progression which is made week by week and that sense of achievement you feel each time you make an improvement in the exercises. Before I joined type one fitness I never liked exercise and even though the sessions are tough I enjoy it and look forward to it each week, joining this gym has to be one of the best things I have ever done. From the moment you step through the door you feel welcomed and from doing the PT sessions and the Night classes I like the fact that everyone is so friendly and gets on with one another.

A fantastic gym with top-class facilities and friendly, professional trainers, Robert, Aaron and Tara. I joined back in 2018 and have never looked back.
There are a range of classes on offer, from 1:1 training, to early morning bootcamps to large group evening classes. There really is something for everyone.
The gym’s sense of community and accountability is excellent. Their Facebook group really makes you feel part of a team with a common goal, providing daily motivation and advice, which makes sure you continue to stay on track, outside of class time too!

I have been with T1 now for a year and could not recommend them enough.

My fitness boundaries are pushed in every class I attend and in regard to diet I am always pointed in the right direction.

Robert, Aaron and Tara are extremely helpful, always offering advice when needed. Alongside this, they are realistic about what you can achieve in a certain space of time and allow for your diet and exercise to become part of a healthy lifestyle, rather than an unhealthy “quick fix”.
